Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder
Rene is a lifelong entrepreneurial executive who fosters engagement, transparency, and efficacious results. He has an extensive background in commercial real estate development, asset management and strategic financial planning. He recognizes and values the trust his partners place in him. His history of guiding local, national, and multi-national transactions valued over $200 million have helped him to navigate ongoing expansion efforts into emerging markets with his partners.
As the CEO and founding partner of Chroma Global Technologies Ltd. Rene is drawn to change and effective action. He is focused on the algorithms that shape the continuous analysis and improvement of his business model which are instrumental in the organizations ability to drive interminable growth.
His determination to revolutionize and optimize the commercialization roadmap of the cannabis extraction industry is what differentiates him from others. His passion for progressive biotechnology, combined with his ability to bring value to all stakeholders with equanimity is what makes him extraordinarily successful.
He has worked extensively over the last decade with his partner Frank Zhu in developing and formulating proprietary cannabinoid extraction technology. This technology is about to disrupt the global extraction stage with its ability to scale commercial production of both major and minor cannabinoids and psilocybin.
Frank Zhu
Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder
Over the past 20 years, Mr. Zhu has focused on the development of proprietary methods and processes for applications in nutraceuticals, bioceuticals, botanicals and other derivatives from biomass on at an industrial scale.
Mr. Zhu began his career as a professor at the Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Engineering and Metallurgy (“BRICEM”). From 1982 to 2000, he served in various roles from Director to Vice President of Research at BRICEM and was primarily engaged in research and development work focused on extraction, separation, and purification technologies. He has previously led a team of over 1,600 scientists at the BRICEM. He represents his team of engineers and technologists who had successfully built over thirty mass production lines to extract high purity ingredients such as Ginkgo Biloba, Coenzyme Q10, Stevia, Ginseng, and other extracts for use in commercial nutraceuticals, functional foods and cosmetics.

From 2000 to 2004, he assumed the role of Group Vice President for Beijing Agricultural Group Co., Ltd. and the General Manager of its subsidiary company Beijing Yi Wo Biological Engineering Co. Ltd. From 2005 to 2017, he served as the Chairman of several pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and chemical companies based in China.

In 2017, he partnered with Rene David to bring CG Technology to North America. As Chief Technology Officer of Chroma, Mr. Zhu will lead research and development efforts and oversee facility planning and operational procedures for the CDN LP JV Facility.

Frank Zhu obtained a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University in Shenyang, China, and a master’s degree from BRICEM.
